Wintering

Wintering is a practice that a landscape shorn of color asks of us. Called to search for a different kind of beauty, the smallest of life's details gently remind us of the infiniteness within, bringing stillness into the busyness of our daily lives. Within the intimacy of our surroundings, it is possible to feel a sense of our souls and awaken the very beginnings of healing, even in the face of overwhelming problems.

John O'Donohue said, "If we could look at the world in a loving way, then the world would rise up before us full of invitation, possibility, and depth. The loving eye sees through and beyond the image and affects the deepest change." I hope for this when searching through the viewfinder, a way to glimpse the treasures our lives secretly hold.
